POWER BALLS! Tahini, Peanut Butter, Chia Seed & Coconut
I’ve been dying to learn how to use tahini in something other than hummus or as a spread. Plus I’m crazy about chia seeds, so I decided to throw them in there too.
So after some research I decided to just jump right into it and try my hand at making a delicious, bite-sized dessert that can also make a great pre-workout snack.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!!
Ingredients

makes 26-28 pingpong-sized balls
1 ripe banana
8 tbs tahini
6 tbs peanut butter
4 tbs oat flour (I use spelt)
2 scoops protein powder
4 tbs unsweetened coconut flakes
4 tbs sunflower seeds
1/4 cup raisins
3 tbs chia seeds
2 tbs raw honey
2 egg whites
For vegan option: put 2 tbs chia seeds in 1/2 cup water set aside for 10 min till thickened, then add to mixture
For rolling in: unsweetened coconut flakes, cacao powder, chopped nuts, sesame seeds or licorice root powder. (it’s up to you and your imagination)
Method
Mash up the banana in a medium bowl, add the tahini and peanut butter, stir well.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl, mix well till the dough is formed.
If the dough seems a little wet, add some oat flour till you get the consistency that allows you to roll pingpong-sized balls that do not smoulder.
In a separate deep dish have coconut flakes ready to roll your power balls in till completely covered.
Place the balls on a tray lined with baking paper, cover with plastic and put in the freezer for 20 min.
Enjoy after the 20 min. Store remaining power balls in the refrigerator.
