"Veganer Nu" by Asger B.

January 3, 2019

In November 2018 I was contacted by vegan rapper & activist, Asger B, regarding the filming of his next music video. He had explained that he wanted a "strong and fit" vegan woman in the video and I happily accepted to participate - it was for a good cause after all.

Although I've been a vegan for over 4 years, I really didn't know what to expect from a vegan rap song or music video. I decided that I would keep an open mind and just have fun with it. I am so grateful I did because the shoot with Asger B, his team and the other vegans on the shoot turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had.

For one thing, I got to shoot on the day with my dear friend and fellow vegan, Herman Mohr Hermansen who is an accomplished powerlifter, personal trainer and owner of Target Gym. We had a blast!

But what took me by surprise was the atmosphere that day on set. I'm so used to be being the only vegan in the group, that I was overwhelmed when I stepped into the studio and was surrounded by other vegans. We were all from different backgrounds and walks of life but we were all connected by our common passion for the vegan lifestyle. Everyone was so cheerful, curious and accepting of each other. It was almost like walking in from the cold and being wrapped in a warm, comforting blanket. If you're used to being the odd one out, then you'll understand what I mean by that.

I love being a vegan but I can't boast of being an activist. I admire people like Asger B who are out there protesting and creating thought-provoking content like this vegan music video.

I do my best to lead by example through my Instagram and daily work with my own clients. I try to debunk the "weak vegan" stereotype and show that you can be healthy and strong while living a cruelty-free, plant-based lifestyle.

What I realized that day on the set with Asger B and my fellow vegans, is that we may not all be able to be activists (in the traditional sense of the word), but we can all contribute, inspire and be our own kind of activist.

I'm so proud I got to be a part of this project and hope to cross paths with Asger B and all the other inspiring, cool vegans I met that day.

So without further ado, here's Asger B's new music video "Veganer Nu".

Let's spread the word of compassion & postive change. Enjoy! :)
